Our beautiful model Laura’s career as a ballet dancer inspired the editorial. As outsiders, we explored the idiosyncrasies of her practice. Captured in an intimate setting, her persona is punctuated by contrasts.

 

The photography is either completely sober or full of angles, exploring layers of Laura’s made up stage for the day. Sometimes obvious and sometimes subjective, like a personality of its own. The styling plays with what is feminine and sexy versus what is sporty and formal, obvious and subjective, again. Earthy and pink hues are used in the beauty, with a natural glow. While the make up is lightly inspired by classical ballet, the hair works as a counterpoint, worn with its natural volume.
